Born and raised in Bunbury, Ashley began his training at Top Jazz Ballet. Ashley studied all genres of dance and by the age of 12, highlights his first international tour, performing in front of 400,000 people throughout Japan. Ashley credits his dance teacher Helen Goff, for instilling in him a deep understanding of all things dance, and by taking part in numerous competitions throughout Western Australia, he built a solid foundation for his professional career. As a young adult performer, Ash was a finalist in ABC’s ‘Strictly Dancing’, which was broadcast internationally and Australian wide. He also made the Top 50 of Chanel 9’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. At 17, Ash was scouted from a Perth competition to tour Asia, Australia & New Zealand on the Pacific Sky cruise liner. Continuing onto princess cruises, over the next 4 years completed world tours as Dance Captain. After 10 years of managing a chain of 4 dance studios in Melbourne, Ashley is now living in Western Australia back at his family studio Top Jazz Ballet. Along with teaching and choreography, Ashley has been working as an Examiner for the Asia Pacific Dance Association and Adjudicating at competitions such as Perth Dance Challenge, Star Search, Get The Beat, Elevate Dance Competition, The West Awards, and the CSTD Comdance.
